Wilhelmsburg, Ulm

Revitalisation of the Wilhelmsburg in Ulm, the biggest fortress in Europe after the withdrawal of the German Army. New building cores with lifts and stairs will be installed in the vaulted structure in accordance with the heritage protection regulations. The work includes the exposing and securing of the vaults and static stabilisation using reinforced concrete bracing. The planning takes place in close coordination with the State Office for Monument Preservation on the basis of detailed structural surveys. The project also includes a new truck-friendly access road and bridges.
