Repair to roof structure of Mariae Himmelfahrt church in Türkheim

client Parish over Diocese of Augsburg

An examination of the roof structure in the historic church building revealed serious damage which required extensive repairs. The triple collar beam roof of the nave and the choir with the round apsis were examined. A substance-preserving repair concept was developed and implemented on the basis of the analysis. The measures included the re-hanging of the cornice, static reinforcement of the truss axis in the nave, cross-sectional repair and restoration of the wall connection with spiral anchors in order to preserve the historical substance and supporting structure of the church in the long term.
