Requirement for new building: The client placed considerable emphasis on cost optimization and having uncompromising functional processes. The building was constructed using reinforced concrete with a composite thermal insulation system. The supporting structure includes flat ceilings, columns and stiffening wall panels. A retaining ceiling above the basement makes optimal use of the underground car park with its 35 parking spaces possible. The shallow foundation was created using a load-bearing, flexibly bedded floor slab with haunched recesses. Components located below the floor slab were made from waterproof concrete to withstand water pressure. Conversion/renovation of ward building 1 (1st / 2nd BA): The existing ward building was extensively rebuilt and repaired in a cost-optimised manner, including partial demolition, additions, support structures and the installation of a new lift shaft.
