General renovation and partial rebuild of the extremely damaged Rapphaus. This made an intermediate structure possible which would connect the historic farmhouse and the Rapphaus into a contiguous building complex. The structural design task was to develop a freely supported pitched roof structure which straddles the entire building width and provides a lightweight structure that is as invisible as possible. Silver fir from the municipal forest was used for the roof truss in order to emphasise regionality and sustainability. The joint planning protected the existing structure and ensured that the building was a visual unit.
