A 95 Kreuzhof Bridges, Munich

client State Capital of Munich

The Kreuzhof junction of the A 95, which consists of several engineering structures, is located in the south-west of Munich. The structures carry the A95 over the four-lane Fürstenrieder-/Boschetsrieder Straße and the future Westtangente tram. Both bridge structures were built in 1966, and are regarded as being at risk of stress corrosion because of the Sigma-oval pre-stressing steel that was used. Not least because of this and because of the impact of the new construction of the Westtangente tram, the structures are being replaced with replacement new structures. Until the new buildings have been implemented, the existing structures will be monitored by an extensive structural monitoring system.
